It's easy to lose the joy and spark in the midst of the mundane, but love is the only antidote to a joyless, listless life. Rekindle the flame with us.
If I speak in the tongues of Greeks or Romans, Italians or Frenchmen,
but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
And if I have arithmetical powers,
and understand all educational principles and all knowledge,
and if I have all leisure, so as to never experience stress,
but have no love, I am nothing.
We try to make our days full of love and joy, but bad attitudes crop up so readily. If it's not the kids, it's us.
We want everyone to love learning, but we also want to make sure the kids do their work well - and it feels impossible to have both.
We do love our kids, but being around each other all day every day isn't making feeling or expressing that love easy.
WE LOVE THE IDEA OF HOMESCHOOLING
BUT LOVING THE DAY-TO-DAY IS A DIFFERENT STORY
Ideal for new and experienced homeschooling moms from all backgrounds, the Loving Well Retreat will help you:
LOVING WELL ONLINE RETREAT
featuring Karen Glass
"I really enjoyed this retreat. So much encouragement to dig deeper, ponder and contemplate. To take a deep breath and enjoy the journey. The perfect balance of philosophy and practice. Thank you!"
— Angelique Knauff
We all have struggled feeling like our abilities did not match up to our vocation as a homeschool mom. We have hard and rough days that include yelling, huffy comments, and messy houses. We can cry about that (and sometimes we do). Or, we can laugh. We think we should choose laughter more often.
Homeschooling well can be an overwhelming and lonely task. We will give you practical help to make it less overwhelming and connect you with sisters who can relate to what you are going through and who will help you grow in love of God, your family, and wisdom as you do.
"These women and the resources they offer have encouraged me probably more than anything along my homeschool journey. The retreats feel like meeting with wise, godly friends and mentors."
— Lindsay Ronning
Karen Glass has been homeschooling her children for 25 years, and she’s not quite finished yet. She is one of the founders of the AmblesideOnline curriculum project and has delved deeply into Charlotte Mason’s philosophy of education. She has lived in Poland, where her husband ministers, for over twenty years. In the last few years, she has begun writing books (including In Vital Harmony: Charlotte Mason and the Natural Laws of Education and Know and Tell: The Art of Narration) to share some of the things she has learned along the way.
Karen will be speaking on love and the science of relations with her talk The Ladder of Love: Education Is the Science of Relations
Being saturated in all love's features is a good first step; we cannot live out something we do not understand. It is when we begin to understand that we can begin to apply.
"Love Conquers All: Doing the Hard Work of Educating and Mothering"
When we find ourselves in what has become a power struggle, or when we see our children in one, we can give the counsel of love as an alternative framework for the situation.
"The Ladder of Love: Education is the Science of Relations"
All knowledge is interconnected and love binds it together. Love becomes the glue of our learning as well as it's purpose when we understand what it's really all about.
"A Lens of Love: On Reading Widely"
We know we want our children to love reading, but why? How and why and what ought we read? Love should characterize our demeanor as we read books that challenge us, books that are old, hard, and wrong.
"The Greatest of These: Love Lessons for Our Homeschool Days"
Love should move us through our mundane days, but it's easy to lose the plot. There are three simple habits we can build to be consistently walking in love during our homeschool lesson times.
"Contemplation Session: A Thinking Love"
A contemplation session is a time to reflect and process rather than gather in more new material. It is time to think, write, and discuss your own connections and applications so that the ideas have a chance to take root in your mind and heart before you move on to the next thing.
The retreat will be broadcast live using Crowdcast. When you register, you will get email reminders with links 30 minutes before the sessions begin and you can also sign up to get text reminders with links as well.
If you are watching live on October 10, there will also be Zoom discussion groups available between sessions.
The replays will be available within your account on the Scholé Sisters website in a fun and easy-to-navigate format.
All the printable resources for the retreat are already available within the retreat area, which you get instant access to as soon as you register.
When you register for the LOVING WELL Retreat, you get

We do have group rates available and a special for hostesses who want to make a retreat day of it with their friends in-person, either live or later. Click here for more information on putting together a local group.
This retreat is for homeschool moms who want more out of their school day than just checking boxes and getting it done.
It is for moms who want to learn and grow themselves while they are helping their children learn and grow.
It is for women who want to engage their hearts, minds, and actions in the pursuit of wisdom and truth.
We hope that's you.
We feel you! Our retreat is broadcast on another platform that is simpler to use and provides a better chat functionality with other attendees.

We highly encourage you to do so! Now more than ever we need to be intentional about building our friendships and strengthening our local connections.

"Thank you so much for all of the hard work you all put into this retreat so that busy moms can be refreshed for the tasks of motherhood and homeschooling. I don't really have any mentors in real life. But I'm thankful you have put technology to use, offering godly mentorship from afar. "
